pro50 install help

i have an 02 gt manual. i can't get the old shifter out! besides maybe jacking up the car and banging on it from underneath what can i do to get it out. should i bang on it to loosen it up. please help. is it clipped on somewhere else or something?

Try and rock it back and fourth or use a small claw hammer along the side. Place the tip of the claw along the right hand edge and use the rounded head of the hammer head against the transmission housing. It should pop off then. After you have the 4 bolts out of the shifter, nothing holds it on except good old RTV.

After you remove the four bolts you will have to break the seal you can use a small crowbar or one side of a pair of channel locks to pry and break seal. Take your time and work around the shifter casing

I used a small piece of 2X4.

mine wasnt nearly that hard....just grabbed and pulled. threw me back into the seat, but it came off.
