I recently have converted my 1987 speed density fox to a carbureted setup with gt40 heads, tfs1 cam, weiand stealth dual plane intake, and a 600 edelbrock carb. the car idles fine and seems to rev up smooth. The problem is once the car is under load like going down the street it seems to be misfiring real bad and has little to no power but doesnt cut off. Also we set the timing to tdc and the timing seems to be right because of the easy startup, idle, and revs. I used a distributor from a 1985 f150 that had a flat tappet cam. Could this be the problem? We have had nothing but trouble with this edelbrock carb, it has caught on fire twice and im pretty positive its not from timing being too far advanced. I have a holley 600 that im rebuilding and putting on the car and ill keep yall updated on whether that fixes the problem or not. Thanks in advance for helpful info.
