I'm a little puzzled by this problem:

My car is idling really bad; it feels and sounds like I dropped some cams in the car (really rough). Additionally, my blower (Series II) is whining more than before and in a different RMP range. It starts to whine at around 2500 RPM up ultil the normal whine kicks in around 4500 RPM. My car, according to my guages, is still producing the same boost and no warning lights have come on. It does seem, though, that the car is a little down on power (kick).

Any ideas as to what might be causing this problem?

Car Details:
'01 S281-S/C
Chicane RIPP Kit
Chicance Blower Pulley
SCT Tune
SVT Fuel Pump
Mangaflow Exhaust

Thanks for all of the help!!!

Best Regards,

Bearings in the blower have probably gone bad. When they start it is best to have it rebuilt asap. I wouldn't keep driving it!

Well, I dug into the car after work today and found the problem. It seems that I sucked-in part of the gasket that sits between the blower and engine/intake. I called Saleen and they have sent me a gasket kit for $28 (includes intercooler gasket and hardware).

Thanks for the help!!

Good find! Glad it didn't turn out to be the blower!

No kidding! I was more than just a little worried. I'm gonna' install the gasket kit and sell the car. Besides, I ended up buying an '05 S/C today.....
It's kind of interesting, the build number for the '05 car is 1320......
