We actually have a redesigned bracket coming out for those in a month, because of this problem. Those bolts are for adjusting the fenders, so the tolerances vary. We typically install them upside down, though you can also install them the way you show (which our instructions call for and will stay the same with our new bracket). I believe most of the competing kits also install the bracket upside down from your picture and our instructions. This new bracket should fix all of that, but you can definitely flip them and install and it should work perfectly. We just are building the new bracket for a cleaner install.

We'll have the new bracket in about a month - anyone interested in swapping out for it can PM me in about 4 weeks and I can send them a set! Hope this helps!

If you have any questions in the mean time or if you just want us to refund the purchase, let me know and I'll take care of it. Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience. You'll love them once they're installed, though!

Chris, I could really use your help. LOL

I sat on the phone again for the third time and explained (or tried to) what you had said here to the tech I talked to....and he seemed to understand. But today I got a THIRD set of struts with the incorrect brackets.

Since you guys do not allow UPS pickup at homes, I have to go pretty out of the way to return the ones I have gotten......I just sent back the very first set yesterday......have to now return the second set and I guess the third?? I was told by the tech that I could NOT combine the 2 sets at the time so that is why the separate shipments.

What do I do?

I also just left as (long) voicemail at your phone number.

Thanks

AMChrisRose

I just received a credit back on my credit card for the original purchase, which is the way the CSR suggested- said I should just send everything back and wait till the new brackets are available, and then re-order. Can you let me/us here know when the new brackets are ready so I can re-order the strut kit?

I sure will! Once I get the ETA as to when the new brackets are coming in, I'll be sure to post it up here.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!
Have a great weekend.

I just got off the phone with our New Parts Team and they gave me an ETA of February 10th for the new brackets to be available.

Please PM me or email me directly at chris(dot)young(at)americanmuscle(dot)com on or about that day with your last hood-strut order number or your email address and I can have the replacements sent ASAP. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Have a great weekend!

Well, its not like this is a critcal part -- they didnt hang me out to dry, actually....they refunded my original purchase once I sent the other struts (all 3 shipments) back.

They advised me that the new brackets areexpected in at the end of February but then have to be painted. They said to contact them the forst week in May.

THe car is in storage right now until snow is not expected......so no big deal.

Curious though -- what brand struts did you buy and how much?

How do you know they are US made? (The site doesnt show them as being made in the US)

I do like the punched-hole look......do you have any pics of them installed on your 2011-up?

Reason I ask is that they have the application for them fitting 2008-2011...... want to see how the brackets mount.....the ones at AM were supposed to fit acorss the model years too and didnt.....also, found a picture of the ones you are talking about at Summit (searched by part #) and the lower bracket looks exactly like the ones used on the AM ones.... ???????????

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CDC-0511-7012-05/?rtype=10

The silverhorse racing kit on summit also looks to have the same lower brackets......

Chris from American Muscle -- can you tell me if the brackets are being "painted" or if they are being powdercoated?

Can you send me a picture of the new mounts?

I bought "Redline" from AM. You have to drill and rivet them in but it's real easy and looks like they came stock.

I liked the engineering and installation of Redline Hoodstruts MUCH better than any other companies. I have them on my '92 and got the stainless ones for my 2011. Well worth it!

Wow, man. Props for your patience. I hope you get these as freebies from AM for not just buying them elsewhere.

They got back to me via email a little bit ago and asked me to call. Did so and I ordered a new set. They say that the problem has been rectified...will post my results here once I get them.
