i just got my Prochamber, and im a little surprised. i thought it was that silverish metal color, but mine is black. is this normal? Also i was wondering what is supposed to come in the box, just so i can make sure i got everything. thanks in advance.
I got mine about a month ago, and it was silver. I think MAC called it an HTS coating. I heard that the pipes were prone to rust prematurly, and that I should paint it with some hi-temp paint for protection, which I did (couple coats) The pipe has only been one a month or so ( about 400 mile) and it still looks like it did when I put it on. I think it was HTS 1200 paint. Hope this helps.
Mine was silver when I put it on about a year ago. Now its rusting around the welds. I have bottomed out many times with the concrete scraping on the pipe though.
well, im pretty sure the its black because its HTS coated. Thats a good thing, won't rust like the silver ones. I know nuthin bout that though, my Bassani was Stainless Steel . I woudve liked it if it was black, would look better under the car.
I guess the new ones are black and they now come in 3 pieces. My silver one came in 2 pieces... I wonder if they switched to 3 pieces because of exhaust leak problems. Seems like it's easier to line everything with 3 pieces. Dunno
MAC changed the coating on their exhaust products. I just bought a set of pro-dumps and they were the last to be painted with the silver HTS(thank god-I don't like the black).
