I have an 02 GT w/Super 40's and am going to get an o/r pipe. I was thinking of the prochamber since everyone talks so highly of it but I'm so strapped for cash that i'm considering other cheaper posibilities. What about an o/r H? Is there a big sound difference between that and the pc? Ive heard that X-Pipes on a 4.6 = a big no so I guess that's out of the picture. So is the pc/H-pipe difference really big? And what are the better brands for an o/r h-pipe?

I would run an h-pipe. I don't really like the idea of the prochamber but that is my opinion of couse.

I went with an x-pipe because it was the cheapest stainless option. in your case where you already have alumized exhaust I would just run and alumized h-pipe. It will sound awesome. I dont' know who makes the cheapest yet still quality h-pipe.

Certain X pipes really do sound like **** with Flowmaster while other X pipes sound awesome.

I know that a VRS off road X pipe (cheap too) sounds tough with Flows, and the Dr. Gas X ($$) sounds really good too, but I don't like how Bassani's X sound with Flows. An o/r H sounds the toughest with Flowmasters, IMO. I ran the H for while but got tired of it, it was just obnoxious. With 4.10s running 3k rpms on the interstate the H would just wail and it attracted too much attention from the cops. I switched to the Prochamber and it sounds smoother than the H, plus it's not as loud and doesn't drone as much.

A little off topic, but how do your Super 40's sound? Are they noticably louder than regular Flowmaster 40's? Just curious man!

The Super 40's have a really nice tone, but for me they aren't very loud at all. Ive never heard original 40s in person so I can't compare, but they should sound about the same on the outside. Very little drone in gears 1-4, absolutely no drone in 5th on the highway.

It seems that true x-pipes give you a bit more power. Fastscorpio in Tacoma has a Bassani off road X mated with super 40's and his set up sounds flat awsome. You'd swear there was an h-pipe there. I've also heard Dr. Gas and magnaflow x-pipes with flows and they both sound very good. I looked at my prochamber as a little bit of both (h and x-pipe). the design is actually a combo of the two. It doesn't have quite the perfomance of a true x-pipe, but it seems to have more than an h-pipe and the sound is out of this world.
