I bought the PP intake, after about 3 hours with the die grinder it was O.K. You get what you pay for like the other guys said. I like my Accufab TB, no problems there!
I agree that spending your money on China junk sucks. I have a 70mm Professional product one and have no problems with it. But if you stop and think where half of the crap is really made this is just a small percentage. Theres no way to really get away from it. If a person soley bought US products they'd be living pretty harh off in there house or what ever. Dont get me wrong I try not to support *** crap either, but with all the importing we do its impossible not to buy either. So as far as this throttle body being junk purely based on it being China made is foolish.
I think part of the problem is that accufab and ford racing are sooo dam expensive that no one wants to lay out the cash. Im in the market for a new tb very soon also...and im very confused as to what im going to do. I have heard just as many bad things about bbk/mac/edelbrock (which are all the same thing). I have heard stories about every type of TB whistling, getting stuck, hanging idle, etc...I guess you either take your chances or pay out the a$$.
I have the Typhoon Intake & the 70MM T/B. The T/B will stick...simple fix, the shop that installed it pulled a heavier spring off a carb they had sitting around. No problems since then.
Bought their intake with a 70mm throttle body and made over 400hp at the wheels and idles and drives better than stock. The intake's ports could use a little clean up but other than that everything works PERFECT! So far I couldnt be happier with their parts and their prices..
btw- people with sticking throttle bodies.. I would tie that into where the cable snaps into the linkage. Throw a little grease in there and you'll be good. I noticed it was tight going in the first time but loosened up nicely with a little grease.
You don't need it, I run 65 with my set up and have NO issues...had BBK70 and pulled it for the polished PP 65mm. The 65mm is more than enough for any set 302-306 n/a set up. You want to put that money to good use, save for a set of ported or aluminum heads, nitrous kit, or even take a minute to check to see if your tracloc needs a rebuild...that's money well spent.
Well, I called the guy I got my intake from, and he is selling a 73mm C&L throttle body, and an 80?mm C&L MAF for $50 a piece, and I'm gonna pick those up tomorrow. He has a Pro-M that is calibrated for my 19 lb/hr injectors, but he wants $125 for that, and I don't wanna spend that much on it. So lemme know your thoughts on C&L. If I remember right I heard they were pretty good?
