Proform fan

I have a proform [pos} fan. the thermostatic control took a dump, my question is can i use a 185 on 170 off temprature sender mounted in the thermostat housing to control the fan? oops make that a 190 on 180 off i have a 180 degree thermostat.

You might find that you have issue with the fan running nearly all the time once the car is up to temp. One generally wants a buffer between the t-stat being fully open and the fan coming on. E.g. for a balanced 180* t-stat (meaning it's fully open by 180*F), one could have the fan come on at ~198 -200 and go off at 188 - 190*.

I have a similar setup but I drilled and tapped a hole in the intake for the t stat. Works fine.

i have the same fan and problem did awat with the whole thermostat setup on the fan itself an wired it to a switch works fine
