Progress Thread Progress Thread kinda stalled- looking to get it back going again!

I feel like those “10 minute swaps” always turn into a disaster but the jobs that I anticipate being a total abortion end up going fine and dandy. Well, not always but you know what I’m saying… Anyway, your post struck home! I get it! lol
Yeah, they all even out I guess!

My wife says that with the finances. Always even Steven…… get a little extra…. Something breaks! lol

Well, since the Mustang is still sitting in the garage (will be out and about soon) I’ll give you n update on the new f150, which so far, I could not love any more. Super happy with it.
Went through the winter with nothing on the bed, so now that the weather has broken, I installed the Bedrug, Ford swing box, and Worksport flip up tonneau cover! I give the Bedrug and tonneau five stars!! The jury is still out on how I feel about the swing box. Good in theory, but it kind of covers the left tie down, and it doesn’t hold a whole lot. It does have a nice look to it for the bed, which for me is treated more like a giant trunk.
My ‘02 had a Bedrug since new, and still looked new 23 years later when I sold it. And that had loads of dirt/mulch/ and many other things in it. As if you couldn’t tell, I’m a big proponent of this bedliner!

Hey guys, anybody see any reason this (or something similar) wouldn’t be a good spare for my 5-lug conversion on the Mustang?
I’m determined to use it more this summer, but would feel better having a spare with me.

Appears to be what I have. I can take a picture of the spare in the Coupe if that will help. Will be tomorrow.
I threw an offer out on that one, so I’ll see if they bite. But if you could get a pic to verify this will work, that would be great!

Never really worried about it, but lately it’s in the back of my mind. Hate to have to call for a tow if I don’t have to.

It fits in the well. I had the 17” cobra spare in my fox for a while before I went to an 18” spare for caliper clearance.

I have the 15” spare out of my ‘00 in my basement I couldn’t get $25 for on marketplace for a long time. I ended up putting a Cobra 17” spare in that car because I upgraded the brakes

They both fit fine and allowed the carpet to sit flat

So you can use the 15" spare which is a T125/90R15. However if you ever want to move up to the 13" Cobra brakes the Cobras used a T155/70R17 which has a diameter of 25.5" and can be used with the V6/GT brakes as well.

I have the spare that is for the Cobra brakes as it matches the diameter of the 275/40R17 back tires. Which worst case scenario with the limited slip I want the spare to match the opposite rear tire. Glad I offered to check mine as it was about 15 psi so I aired it up. Have not checked that damn thing in years. At least there is a lug wrench and the jack was still securely bolted down albeit the plastic wing part of the wing nut was no longer attached to the nut. Ordered an all metal one so that is solved as well.

I have done the cobra brakes about six or seven years ago and being the frugal fuch I am I put a 16 inch full-size spare from a Taurus I had in the garage.
It will fit on the rear and if I have a front flat I swap the rear then swap that one to the front.
Since all these years and miles, it is still in the hatch well untouched.

How much was the spare from eBay? I’m wondering if it would almost be cheaper (for me personally) to find a used NewEdge GT wheel on FB marketplace and just have a matching spare.
I think it was like $119 after taxes.
I lowballed an offer, he came back with something a little lower than the original, so I took it.
I’m happy I have a spare….. he made some money I’m sure. Win/win.

So ive had this knock in the rear of the car for quite some time. I thought it was the exhaust…..then I thought it was the hatch…….. then I just didn’t know.
Finally got the car out on the driveway, opened the hatch, and started listening around. I actually felt the knock in the floor of the hatch next to the spare tire. Narrowed it down to exhaust again, hitting the wheel well where it goes over the rear end. Tweaked it, tightened it, and I think I got it. Man that was driving me nuts for a while. Hopefully I got it right enough where it’s done for a while.

I wasn’t trying to say you got jipped or anything. Maybe more so that new edge GT wheels (like I have) can be had for Pennie’s on the dollar these days.
No worries. I maybe could have found something cheaper, but sometimes I just get something in my head, and when I see what I need I buy it. If I think about it too long, then I don’t do it. lol
