Project 81 Hack Job!!!!!

Well, my carpet is almost dry, but I won't get to that til tomorrow. Supercross is coming to Ford Field tonight, so we are going down to eat at about 4:30/5:00 and then going to Supercross at about 7:30. I will get about 2 hours of work in today. Hopefully more tomorrow.

Got the tails working. Here are some pics. I took the lenses off, clean the dirt and mud out of them....they look much better now. Painted the backing silver, and I resealed them with buetel tape.

Off to work.....installing back half of interior....PICS when I get home...

Enjoy these for now.

Got some more stuff done. Laid the Crown Vic sound deadening down, fit great after trimming. I also installed the quarter trims and the back seat. The bottom of the back seat isn't clipped in, I have to take it back out to install the carpet, it's just there for the pic. Had to modify some crap on the inner quarter to get the 87+ seat belts to mount in the 81. Can't believe they changed something so minor.

The backrest is what I had recovered a while ago, he also did the headliner. The bottom just needs cleaning.

Well, this goes to all of you. Thank you, and I know, I need to work faster, and I do want to drive it soon. I need to find more time to work on it is all. I hope to get the junk cleaned out of the car and get the carpet installed tonight. I will prolly find all the tools I am missing when I do that too......

Slow95GT---I hope it will run in the 13's. It should, but I won't be mad if it doesn't because I didn't build it for that, I did it to kind of see if I could do what some people told me couldn't be done, but most of all just for me....yellow coupe, new edge performance, handling and reliability, in an old school car.

1990Coupe---Thanks as always.

And as for the pics....sorry for not getting them up last night. I didn't even take any. I would be rushing if I threw the carpet in. I forgot I had to:

1. Reseal the shifter into the trans.

2. Install sound deadening boot over shifter into floor.

3. Rework and clip in some electrical plugs near the A-pillars so the Fox kick panels would fit better...Got that done way better than I had it.

4. Tape up some wires that I thought could possibly rub through on some edges of the dash, body.

5. Clean the metal floor. It was so dusty and dirty from me getting in and out. I sprayed the whole thing with Blue Corral Carpet Cleaner, wiped it and vacuumed it. It smells really good in there now.

Tonight the carpet is going in, the console, maybe the seats and sunvisors too...I can't stay long, I have homework....DAMN!!
