Washer bottle and lines to cowl screen installed.

Interior shots....Yes, its dusty, don't worry, it will be cleaned. I get my new door panel hardware kit from resto wednesday, so the panels will be on soon. Also...the seats look bad in the pics now that I see them. They are not that bad in person. Those creases aren't that noticeable.

I polished the tail light lenses, and I repainted the trim in flat black between the lenses.

I also got the license plate lights working and the trunk popper. The car will not have the orange blinker as all Fox bodies. The outer red brake light is the turn signal....just like the 2001. It's different, but cool.

OMG svt she's looking beautiful!!!!

has there been another thread which i have missed that shows pics of the whole car painted? I'm kinda bummed if i did miss it!

*searches*

But seriously, she's looking amazing :nice: :nice: :nice:

Thanks man!! There are a couple more threads, but I'll do the digging...its not a whole pic, cause the cars isn't finished, but here you are....:D

haha i just saw that thread actually in my search..

I would love to undertake a project like this.. the problem isnt finding the fox shell, its finding the 99-04 wrecked that runs good for a decent price :( getting a fox shell for a few hundred isnt the problem, its the 5 grand i'd spend on a wrecked 99-04 (and i have no idea where to even get one!)

basically thats all i'd need right? minus someone who can weld to move the tranny cross member.

I don't know if I told you this, but I have mentioned before to:

1. Start with a fox that was fuel injected. 86+. There were so many mini projects that took all day because my car was carbed. I didn't have any holes in the fedner aprons for air tube, washer bottle, fuel lines, and 1 other rather large hole for random wiring and cruise control cable.

2. Find a car that needs less body work, and or no body work. Say, I did this to my 91 notch that the body is good on. I could have the car swapped over much quicker, but I still would have to repaint the engine bay after the change over was fabbed up.

3. A MAJOR hang up was welding in a section of firewall from the 2001 into the 1981. This was because this section holds the bearing that the 94-04 steering shaft goes through. Without this, forget about using the new style column and dash.

(THIS IS NOT MY PIC, it's one I saved from a site I found...but this is what I had to do.) ( You can also see where the holes had to be oblonged for the hyrdoboost to fit in the fox)

4. Another MAJOR hangup was the 2001 gas tank neck and gas tank. The neck is longer than the fox, so I had to cut that, shorten it, and then weld it back together. I did 2 practice necks I had laying around, wasn't happy with those, and the 3rd one I did, I used. I kept welding them at the wrong angle making the grommet in the tank stretched.

BEFORE: stock 2001

AFTER: 2001 made to fit 81 car.

5. Other hang ups weren't nearly as bad, but they pop up everytime I turned around. The only thing that went smooth was the paint, and the installation of the seats.....hell even the 2001 carpet took a while to trim and fit into the 81.

Anyways, I could always give you "internet advice" but it still a challenge. There were so many times, I was like...what did I get myself into? IF I did another mod fox, I would know more on what I have to do, but it will still be another challenge like the first one.

Remember this??

You can get the amber turn signals to work in the rear. Not sure how interested you are in doing some wiring at this point, but if you follow these instructions (meant for wiring in export taillights on an SN95), it'll tell you how to separate the turn signal from the taillight.

Thanks for the site. What I did was use the 94-95 tail light harnesses as they plug into the 2001 body harness, and twist into the 87-93 tail light openings. I didn't have to cut anything, but I did have to lengthen the reverse light sockets.

I will look into it again once I sort out getting the third brake light squared away. It was late last night, I already worked about 5 hours on the car, and stripping all the old electrical tape off the harness pist me off because it was frustrating and I spliced my damn finger on the decklid fishing the license lights through!! At that point I was like F-it. I'll go home.

I'll look more into it this weekend.

So close! It's always hard to finish up the little things near the end of a project, stay focused, take your time and give us pics! My 5-lug swap is stalemate at the moment due to weather so i'm loving the pics of Hackjob right now!

Thanks again guys! Yeah, the space is the biggest thing. There is a huge backroom at work, but with the business running too,....many things get cluttered up with the parts of the car laying around. Can't tell you how many things I've lost. If it weren't for the yard, I'd have plenty of more money going out to websites like 50resto.....thanks again!

He biches and moans like a moaning biotch and he dont even look at the pictures he was biotching for damn biotch.....SHAWN! :fuss:

:D

I know but I love giving him crap. Now that I helped get him his new CT I feel it important to tease him so I can feel better about myself :(

JK :D
Shawns good people :nice:

SVT, after seeing those LX lights on the badass yellow paint, I can't believe you were considering smoked tails. Those lights look f'n badass! How much longer do you think this is going to take until you're ready for driving? (out of curiosity)
