ive got a 94 up dash laying in my basement screaming to go in my coupe just havent wanted to tackle that bear yet. Was it hard to get it to fit? Also what are you going to do about the interior door handles?

Blueblazes---The dash took me 10 hours to get trimmed and fitted. Another 2 hours to get it bolted in correctly. I could do it in half the time if I did it again. The interior door handles are not an issue. I set the dash further up than most must have set it. I had to trim 1/4" off of each handle, so the edges of them would clear the dash. They open up perfectly, and you can stil get two fingers in them to open them.

Prime Lord and Aaron and anybody else who asked how long----I was shooting for first week of May, but two classes at night and then homework/studying....rrrrr. There is a local car show at this metal fab shop by me May 17th. That is my new goal. As long as it is ready to drive by then, I'll be happy. I don't want to miss that, because many local people I know will be there.

Prime Lord----I'm glad I didn't do smoked too. After I wetsanded and rubbed the lenses, they were so glossy, they are great looking now.

Leroy93lx---I'm not using the 05 wheels. I bought them cheap, and I wanted to see what the 45mm offset looked like, and they are perfect for my car. But they look like Taurus wheels, I don't like them. I took a deposit from a lday who wants them, and she said shes coming back next week.

Everybody else, thank you so much! I will get some updates soon. The updates won't be huge, but here is a list.

1. Strip, prime, seal and paint the front cover.
2. Install cover, and new headlight kit from 50resto.
3. Get third brake light installed.
4. Bleed brakes and top off coolant.
5. Tighten motor mount bolts, rear LCA bolts, grease ball joints and tie rods.
6. Get windows tinted, and front end alignment.
7. Install 97 Cobra wheels and tires....(till I decide what to buy new)
8. Install door panels.
9. Install trunk carpeting.
10. Fully detail interior and exterior and wash and ENJOY!!!!

Thanks again, more coming soon!!

One more thing....I need your guys' opinion. It is getting closer and closer to wheel time. I like the 97 Cobra wheels but I want a 05+ wheel with the +45mm offset. so...

What do you think of Black Bullit wheels with the machined/polished lip? I saw them on an 05 GT and they looked sweet. I have never been a fan of black wheels, but with the polished lip, and the black trim on my car....it will look pretty good. What do you guys think?

I had someone shop 97 Cobra wheels on TruBlues yellow notch before and they did a damn good job. Can anybody shop some black bullits w/ machined lip on that car?

I see the light at the end of the tunnel now. For a long time, I was just working and working away, such little progress happened in 8 hours, in the middle of this build. Now, 8 hours, it should be done!! (Hopefully)...hehe

I've seen the black S197 Bullitt wheel in person and didn't really think much of it. However on a fox that is a different story as I find a 17" on the S197 looks really small to me which is likely why I didn't like it. It certainly didn't have the impact the NE Bullitt wheel did when I first saw it. I think it would look good on a fox but I think that a dull wheel wouldn't work with your color. I would run the Cobra rims you have and see what else comes out. The S197 is far from over and with rumors of Boss and Mach varieties potentially coming out in the next few years you may find something better.

I'm not big on any 17's on S197 cars either. I like them on Foxes too. I agree about the waiting game, but what I am seeing, is that all the new wheels for 05+ Mustangs are 18" or 20". That kinda sucks because 18" tires are too expensive, and 20's are just a big no for a fox body.

I am driving myself nuts. I always look at american muscles site and 50restos site while I'm at work. I look at the same wheels everyday, I just don't know.

I think they have great potential on a dark colored car but after all the work you've done to apply such bright paint, black wheels provide too stark a contrast. I agree that they're likely the best pic of the available S197 wheels in a 17" as most of the other wheels I think would look badass don't meet your requirements:
Chrome Pony R - Wrong Offset
FR500 Polished Finish - 18"
I'm not an overly large fan of aftermarket style wheels but looking on American Muscle might not be a bad idea. There's alot more options available to you than what Ford has provided for us. I think a "shiny" wheel looks best with such a bright color.

Thanks man! I don't know man, I think I might take a step towards the black 05+ Bullits with machined lip. That 05 GT I saw looked Siiiick. I did a triple take. I just don't like all black wheels. The real Ford RAcing wheels are cheap too. They are about 144 each. American Muscle sells them for 120 something, but they are replicas, and they are 17X9 in the back. They also don't look like 05+ wheels, they guy told me they all look like the 04 and olders Bullits.

I just wish someone could shop someone on True Blues yellow notch.
