Prime Lord and 1990 Coupe. I knew I would get a rise out of a few of you. I'm not selling anything yet. I want to enjoy it for the summer. One of the coupes will have to go, because I'm for sure not selling my 96 Cobra...unless I find an 03/04 to fix within the next few years. I don't wanna make any rash decisions. I know I will love the 81, and the 91 is the first notch I built...so maybe summer 2009, I'll think about which one will go.

Blue Blazes----As for more pics of the dash, I don't have anything too close up, or in detail, but here you are.

Notice the center of the dash, where that tab sticks up over the body....That is now different. I had to cut about half of what you see off. It is also sitting under the body, not above it. Everything else is the same. I still have defrost, but I have yet to install the defrost vent trim. I have to trim it up, and fit it with trial and error. Not a big deal, this whole car was fabbed up. I also, trimmed the area of the dash where that little dip is (under where the defrost trim will go. That is why I still have defrost. I moved the defrost vents back after I grinded that dash pad area out of there. It got tricky, but I need defrost here in MI in Sept, and Oct. I wanted this car to have all options.

BTW....that white bracket I installed in the fox is from the 01. Notice these last two pics are of the transmission crossmember brackets. These are welded in the exact same spot as where that dash bracket is welded to..(in the trans tunnel) When Ford spot welded the crossmember brackets, the dash bracket was then welded at the exact same time. When I installed the dash brackets and those trans brackets, I made sure they were in the same spots as well. This later proved to be 100% necessary for proper fitment on the shifter in the center console.

Thanks Ryan! I am happy with it too. I'll be happier when I drive it. 260HP plus exhaust, 3.73's CAI, and a lighter coupe to go with it, should make it a peppy car.

Of course a 96-01 Cobra or 03-04 Mach 1 drivetrain would have been the more sought after mod fox, but I don't see them at auction nearly as much, plus I would have had to pay double or triple what I paid for this GT. Not to mention, I would not have cut up a Cobra, or Mach, to fix the 81. I would have fixed the Cobra/Mach and sold it.

It will also be a challenge if you choose to try and keep the fox heater/ac box and wiring. I'm not saying that it can't be done that way, because it can, but it is just harder because you need to figure out how to make stuff work. With me, I just installed the 01 heater/ac box, then, made a couple brackets to hold it in. The only thing is, you must strip the wiring off of the 2001 dash to cut and trim it. This makes it much lighter to move around, and plus you won't cut through wiring on accident!! That would suck. Anyways, after you have it fully bolted in and secure, you gotta pull it out again, and reintall the wiring, and then reintall it again. I must have had this dash in and out of the car 20-30 times. The fitment is crutial. Everything must be tight, or else you will have rattles and squeaks. Mine seems good so far. I haven't driven it yet, but nothing rattles under idel or 3-4K revs. It should be fine. The windshield also hides any ugliness at the cowl area, so don't be too concerned with that.

Yeah ive ditched the ac and im contemplating dumping the heater as well since its mostly gonna be a track car with some street duties. Im trying to cut as much weight as I can but id love to have a new model dash in it heh.

Oh man, well then, have at it. Just wire up the little stuff you will be using, and ditch the rest. That dash will be even easier to go in then.

whats your opinion on defroster? Im not sure about it im thinking of ditching it but /shrug.

Car will still be street driven but no wipers, no interior other than dash/console/carpet/2seats, and no accessories but alt, waterpump, crank.

Thanks....guess what guys??

I get Saturday from 2:00pm til ??? when ever to work on it, and I get all day Sunday. I hope to knock out that list of stuff I still have to do I listed above. MY Dad is gonna help me bleed the brake system, I mean it is empty as empty can be right now. I also hope to get the bumper repaired tomorrow and maybe painted late in the day on Sunday before I go home.

I WILL UPDATE SOONER THAN THIS LAST UPDATE!!! I promise!!
