Project 81 Hack Job!!!!!

Thanks everyone above!

25th---Thanks...it should be a great driver. I got all new ball joints, bushings, inner and outer tie rods, motor mounts, and decent used struts and springs. After the alignment I am considering new KYB replacements all the way around. But if it rides nice, I'll just leave it. Even the motor has a lot of new stock bolt ons that I replaced while it was out. Brand new driveshaft and U-joints, everything in the axle is new etc....the only other money I need to spend that I can see so far...is a new windshield, brake pads/turn rotors, alignment, window tint, some detailing products, and a tank of gas! I know something else will pop up though..hehe. On a side note...I hate leaving my 91 anywhere for more than 5 minutes, but this 81 having all the 2001 PATS equipment gives me more peice of mind I guess.

LaserSVT---He bought a Termi? That is awesome...you gotta take that thing for a ride, you will love the blower whine! I love my dad's GT500, I can't wait til the weather breaks, so I can drive it again. It's okay that he bought a car, because I for sure want to enjoy this one for the summer. One notch will have to go, and I don't think I should make any rash decision this summer.

Dude your up early. I know I said it before but I will say it again, great freaking job :nice:
I have played a couple times with dads new Termi, I used to have a 03 Torch Vert 10th annv so I knew what to expect. The coupe is soooooo much better. Anyway go to 4.6Talk and you will see the thread with pics and the other 7 Termis they had for sale. Their was another Terminator dealership about 20 miles away that has another 6 for sale. Its like going to heaven walking in there :rlaugh:

dang...makes me feel like crap now..THANKS. j/k :D here i am all hyped up about doing a 4 cylinder conversion.

4cyl conversions are still cool. I did my 91 notch back in 2006. I was very hyped up about that! Your taking a car that is 4cyl and changing it all over to a 5.0L. Now you have a car that is very desireable and fun to drive. That is a big deal! :nice:

SVT - thanks for the writeup. I know what I spent on base/clear for my car (red), and your non-discounted price was less than HALF of that. Sounds like it could be worth the extra up keep. Seems like white would be an ideal color for single stage.
Again - looks beautiful. Can't wait to see it assembled and out in sunlight.

Thanks a lot. Oh yeah...red is a VERY expensive paint. I remember buying "ES" red for my 00 GT...I cringed when they handed me the bill.

1 gallon of Nason's Ful-Base Urethane paint was LIST: 295.42 and the discounted price was 177.25. I got very lucky with the shop discount.

I'm around the Detroit area. And thanks! I will have more pics soon...maybe this thread, maybe I'll make a new one.

I took a while to do this car...(9 months) and I just did multiple mini threads instead of one big long one. I have it all wetsanded and rubbed, and next is the repainting of moldings and installing interior.

svt32vdohc- i found the pic of my old truck that i was telling you about that is painted chrome yellow..its not the best, i have others but i could find them... here it is:

Project 81 Hack Job Weekend PICS***

You guys asked for them. This is what I have done after work today.

I installed the 2001 door harness into the fox body door. I am in the middle of changing the plugs over since they are different. I just got the mirrors working....which was a MAJOR hangup. As you all know the Fox body mirror switch is in the console, and the 94-04 Mustang mirror switch is in the door panel. So......I made another harness and ran it through the door through the A-pillar and through the dash. I am mounting the switch in the speedo bezel under the headlight switch. It looks really trick. BTW..the fox body window switches plug right into the 2001 control pad backing.

Here they are.
