Did u pull the tank ? I remember u saying it had like 5 year old gas or something in it ? Might be kind of rough on the motor to go to a cruise with 5 year old gas...

7 year old gas and no..we would of been taking my dads vert...mine is staying where its at for the next month or so...till its ready to go back for paint..

Oh yeah..i knew that. Do you have a thing for verts or is that just how you luck out?

yes and no...i either wanted a vert or a hatch...and i found a vert that i liked :D but yeah...part of it is..i like the vert...nonthing better then top down and cruising...:)

Kudos to you for 'digging in'. Everything has potential if you want it to. Good job at keeping a fox alive. As you can probably tell....alot of guys would walk right by. Doing everthing yourself makes it that much sweeter. so damned rewarding to look back, flawed or not, and say "I did that".

SUBSCRIBING.

I would take out that rear end and por15 that whole bitch to keep it from rustin through. But good luck wih it,I am the number one vert supporter, I don't really like LXs but its got potential and its yours!!

The underside looks to be in pretty decent shape. No real major rust I could see in those pics. Get some more pics of the underside up. So far with the exception of the surface rust and the one bad spot on the panel I don't think it looks bad.

Compared to what I have had to deal with on my 65 thats nothing.

Good luck building her back up. It will mean so much more to you when your done since you are gonna do as much as you can by yourself.

Keep us updated :nice:

i dont think im going to take it out...my mom pretty pissed that i have tooken over her parking space for the next 5 or 6 months lol.....

maybe ill throw her up in the air and paint the rear black to give it a little rust prevention till i have the time to do something like that.....

dropping the gas tank Saturday so we will see what it looks like 2 marrow...

ill update later...

later stangnet.

You know what ryan, congrats on the purchase and good luck. As pretty much everyone here knows I bought my car when I was a little younger than you and it was in as bad or worse shape and I turned it into a magazine worthy car (at the time it was in the magazine lol) so theres no reason for you to not be able to do the same. I also went through a couple cars before I could drive (68 galaxy 500 vert, and an 88 lx vert).

Just don't give up when the going gets tough. Also it may be better to paint the car without a new top on it. Just put the top down and cover it with paper. That may make it easier to keep from getting paint around the back edges of the top.

you definitely got some work ahead of you but I can also see the potential in it! It's a great feeling building a car from the ground up. Don't be afraid to tackle the top on your own! I did mine and it came out great. :nice:
