Being that I restore cars for a living, I LOVE seeing booth pictures. Thats where all the hard work and time pays off. There's nothin like new paint!

Nice look. Were the front and rear fascias (bumpers) painted with the same paint as the rest of the car? I know the factory uses a special elastomeric paint that is elastic so you don't get cracking of the paint on the bumpers.

I used to be a bodyman too.

I've seen guys get pretty nervous by paint time, especially if it's their own car.

Believe it or not, my little girl helped me disassemble the interior, install the Holley fuel pump under the car(she held the 9/16 wrench in the hatch area while I tightened underneath), and helped with reassembly!

Awesome! At the risk of sounding all sappy, I can't wait to have kids!

That paint is heartbreaking, sir. Just perfect.

Cervinis ram air 1.5"... Here's the semi finished car. Next week she gets final cut and buff and that's it! Side note, the pinkish hue is more of a camera issue. The car looks blood red in bright sun!

Looks great! I take it you did the door panels yourself? I kinda thought about covering mine, but then they would just be a solid grey. I dont have the skills to put trim on them like the factory did in '86.

I did do them. Not too fancy or anything .. reused the original door boards, covered them in fabric 1/4" foam, HD adhesive, black pleather, and red leather on the inserts. I would've wanted something more but I couldn't bring myself to spend too much. Total on the doors, $140. I bought new black pads from American muscle so that's included there
I already had several cans of dye

The paint booth pics look awesome, the outdoor pics look totally different, what happened? Take some better pics when the sun just goes down. The angle of the sun must have played tricks with the first photos.

I know. The paint pics look way different on camera. When the sun hits it, the color seems to flare. Early dawn and dusk, she looks as she did in Booth. I'll take better pics this weekend
