OK I have ordered my Rims for my Project...

the fronts are 18x9 rears are deep dish 18x10..

I'm on a budget, so i need to find a good tire for a good price.. I found these -->

Sumitomo Tires at The Tire Rack.

But what sizes should i get? Do you guys think 275 40 r18 for the rear and 255 45 r18 for the front will be ok??

What sizes are you guys running on your 18's and what brand

WOW...I just found these Nittos for the front same size as the Sumitomo, but only 20 dollars more per tire.

But the rears are waaay more than the Sumis.

I saw those too i wasnt sure if the sidewall height would be too much.. i guess it couldn't hurt?

I know 25th will chime in. You should get his tire size, because his cars stance is badass. I looked at his thread, and they are 255-35 and 285-35.

Wow, those tires are expensive.. they will cost more then the rims!!! Well you got me a size thats what i needed.. i wonder how these will be?

Well, the reviews on Tire Rack are below the the tire. The guy with the 01 Vette hated them, but then the guy below him with the 2007 GT Mustang like them. You know how Vette guys piss and moan about everything on their car...so I wouldn't listen to him. I've seen many in here with Sumis on their car. I think a Supra guy said they were decent for the money, and Coupes going for budget right now. We all know they're not the best tire.

they're cheap, don't hook (not that they're supposed to), don't last very long, and i don't know.. there have been a few other things that i just can't remember? i don't know anything concrete enough to tell you to NOT buy them... i just wanted to give the heads up. never know until you try though, eh?

The 3rd down are the Match to the rears above...Goodyear F1 Supercar, 142 a peice. That's 284 for a pair. 648 for a set of Goodyear F1's. Might as well go with those for a little bit more. Goodyears are a great brand.

SVT thanks man that seems like a good deal. For not too much more i'd have a tire with "quality" for the most part. not saying the sumt's are bad, just Goodyear is a proven brand

Oh, I'm not sure what the higher sidewall will look like. I just ran the original sizes you posted up.

1990, the HTRZs were pretty good, the IIs sucked in all areas but the IIIs have been great with the people I know. Dont know about wear but they have good traction and are decient in the rain
I had IIs on the Cobra and the traction went WAY down over the Goodyear GS-Cs or the 555 extremes I had But my friend with a Camaro has the IIIs and they rock

sumitomo sux balls for all the reasons listed above. I had them on my 99 Z28 and I hated the ride quality and they caused the back end to swing out on a curve.
the kumho ecsta's on my wifes 02GT are the same way.

I have heard really good things about the General Exclaim UHP.

Tires are ordered.. I got the rears from LMRS and the fronts from tirerack.. i wanted the same make/model for both front and rear.. If they stink oh well i'll get a new set later on.. this will get me going at least..

Guess I came in too late .

I run Falken FK452s on my car. Hooked to a 1.91 60' at the track and never had an issue when I got caught in rain. Cheap as well, comparable to Nitto.

I run 255/35/18 and 285/35/18. The fronts rub, the backs dont.

1990Coupe when your getting ready to fit the tire let me know. If you push the front fenders out a tiny bit you could avoid the rubbing. There should be an easy way to do this.
