So pulled the piston out and good god I lifted a ring bad. Cylinder walls are not in terrible shape I have another piston on order should be here in a couple of weeks. Gonna run a home down the cylinder before I put the new piston in just to be safe. @TOOLOW91 @84Ttop @93TRANSAM

@Chuckman the plan is to repair this short block sell it to offset the cost for a new rotating assembly for the dart going possibly 363 neutral balance

Looks like a lot of scuffing on the skirt. Have a pic of the cylinder wall?

What do you think caused this? I have read nitrous guys talking about too much fuel doing this, but I have no real 1st hand experience with it.

Not sure if you've done this yet, but I used something from Home Depot called "RockSolid" It was about a third of the cost of paying someone to come do epoxy on the floor. (Note - I didn't put it on thick enough alone the back wall)

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Ole...ine-2-5-Car-Garage-Floor-Kit-308637/207141905

I used 2 kits, and should have used 3.

Well bummer. That's my second garage / shop (that I'm fixing up now), so it won't see daily use. Hopefully it will last for a bit!

Mostly where it flaked up was where the tires sit at. When your on top of the surface try not to turn the wheel too much

I just looked back at your piston pic. Looks like the valve reliefs on those are huge! I would be that with the reliefs going all the way to the edge of the pistons made it much weaker then one that had the reliefs stopping well before the ring land.

What brand pistons are you going with next?

Joe

I am not sure what pistons I'm going with but I'm bumping compression up a bit. Going to go 363 neutral balance and put the screws to it

Not sure what the diff is between the autotec and racetec . I know they are both made by racetec. I had a friend who had a blower motor built with autotecs in it and never had an issue.

From what I was told by the guys at racetec is that the autotecs are made from a lower quality alloy I think autotecs are 4032 alloy. He said that autotecs are really a good piston for boost anything more then 10psi. Mine is definitely melted from lack of fuel though for sure.
