Project "Lift her skirt" Pics !

Well the project is moving along, and the engine is in the car. I now have a issue with my oil pan, where the pan pickup is in the front. The block I have now has the dipstick hole and mount towards the back on the right side. The older block was on the left side front. So now do I need to get a oil pan were the pick up and the Hump as I call it is in the back ? The problem I see there is that the hump may not fit over the lower bar there thats for the steering.

Well that may be another thread issue any way..other than that, everything else went smooth, and hopefully if I can solve the whole oil pan thing, I will be firing it up tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned...

I have redone the front valace, now it does not have the gap

Yeah yeah, I should have had my headers redone. But I could not get local ceramic coaters guys on the same page

From a junk out 65..It did not quite fit correctly at first, so now I have redone it and pulled it up to where that gap is not there anymore. I added the lights there to give it a different look. I have seen some pics of old racing stangs with the lights like that and I went for it.

Actually I did not even realize it was a shelby style valence until I saw a thread in this forum on it. I just thought it was different

for the oil pan, plug the dipstick hole in the side of the block. Use a front sump pan, and the timing cover mounted dipstick.

Ahh I see. I have the timming cover from the old engine on the car now. (The reason its not yellow) So I can put the dipstick part back on it and use it that way ? The oil pan is a front sump pan, which again is from the old engine. The pickup is in the front as well. Cool. I will check it out when I get home. This will solve the issue quick and fast

Also I now know what the (proper) name is for the different type of oil pans

now it's time for a dual bowl master cylinder, have to make sure you're stopping properly.

Actually that is next. I saw a thread here on it. You know a decent site to look up one ? I also probaly can get one from advance or autozone. My local speed shop also should carry it. Have to see.

yep, just be sure to plug the dipstick hole in the block. A small wooden dowel works well, just cram it down in there nice and tight, it will soak up oil and expand to make a leak free plug.

Stangninjak; also note that people refer to the drivers side of the engine as left and passenger side as right. You were referring to them as you looked at them from the frt. which made the post confusing.

Yep refitted the oil syick to the hole in the timming cover..no [prbs. I'll go to home depot to get a wood dowel to plug the other hole.

To plug the dipstick in the block use a 1/8" fleeze plug avalible at any machine shop. I used two just to make certain I wouldnt have a leak, cheap insurance.

Haha... while pullin apart my car I found mine was plugged with an 1/8" wooden dowl
For the dual bowl m/c, I think one from a 67 will work. Been awhile since I thought about brakes... any back me up/correct me?
