For those who aren't aware, I'm putting the Baer brake systems on my 67. At the same time I'm updating my rear end. I'm keeping the 8". Upgrading to a PowerTrax No-Slip locker, and 3.80 gears.

I started on Saturday. While my Baer kits won't be here for another couple weeks, I started on pulling the rear. Fun stuff. Been awhile since I had a project of this magnitude. Anyhow, the biggest pain in the azz were the parking brake cables going into the factory drum brake assemblies. I just could not get all three prongs depressed at the same time to pull it out of the hole. So I ended up snapping the dang things off.

So here's my question. I'll be stuck with the C4 for a few more years. And my brake kits coming currently will have no provisions for the parking cables anyhow. Should I just tear out those parking cables and worry about it when I go with the manual some day? I'm sure there may be a legal issue. But I'm not sure of the safey factor. I've NEVER used a parking brake with an automatic transmission anyhow.

That's about it for now.

When these cars were made they called parking brakes, emergency brakes. The brakes you are putting on may be reliable enough that it won't be a problem. Personally, I like to have an "emergency" brake.
