Pro's: Scaring little kids, loud as hell (if thats your taste), little hp gain depending on hp you're making, etc.

Con's: Carbon monoxide inside car. LOUD as all hell.

With a cam and exhaust, dumps will make your car sound like a pro street car. Just make sure you don't sit in one place with the windows up for too long or you might pass out or even die. Small chance but its happened. Its not much of an issue since most people have their AC on while they drive or have their windows down etc. If start smelling exhaust fumes inside the car, get some fresh air quick.

I have the flowtech stinger with the dumps and it is not loud. It gave my 95 gt a nice rumble and I can un cap the mufflers to run strait pipes at the track.

PRO-- LOUD AS HELL.

CON--- THE DRONE.

I ran dumps on my car for a awhile. I had O/R X-pipe and bassani mufflers. I had to put the tails back on. The Drone was killing me.

i have dumps on my flowmasters with shorty headers and off road H....the sound didnt change to much on the outside, but on the inside you can hear it just as loud as you can if your standing next to the car. The only thing is though it takes about a week to get used to the drone and all the vibrating and rattling that it brings upon anything plastic...And your not going to die from fumes, you can smell it if your parked, but its fine.

I heard running dumps can really heat up your fuel, which could lead to detonation.
I had 'em on my 90 GT for awhile but put the tailpipes on.

Here is some thoughts on the pros and cons of dumps.

(These are my opinions/observations from friend's cars with them)

Pro's:

Possible a bit more power (nothing noticeable).
Less rolling weight.
Easier to install.
Louder exhaust hitting the pavement (if truely dumped).
Cheaper.

Cons:
If not actually dumped the exhaust gas could help heat up the rearend just that much more.
In my opinion if gives the cars a cheaper look??? and makes it sound more truck like.
Less weight over the rear tires.
I wouldn't sit inside the car for long at a stop. Dumps act like two big exhaust leaks at a standstill and will seap thru the car eventually...not cool...

currently running open after H-pipe...i'd say same as dumps, only...not down... right, anyways.. LOUD aS all get out! Can get annoying...IMO go with the Borla Side Exit... i've decided to get that soon, just custom fabbing my own side skirts for it.

Are you running without mufflers? That could be the cause of the loudness Dumps are turndowns after the muffler...

Pros of dumps- save 20lbs with no tailpipes, free up one or two horsepower with less backpressure, increased room for wider rear tires.

Cons- eh....lots of noise inside the car.

'Bout it.
