I'm in the process of installing vt stage 2 blower cams on my 00 4.6 2v. I followed everything according to this post...

... I did the passenger side first just to check for ptv clearances (used playdoh), rotated the engine, and everything checked out fine. The closest was like .400 thousands. Took that chain and head off. Time to check the driver's side, rotated the engine. Big problem with #6. The valves hit the pistons (barely) but 5, 7, and 8 were totally fine. There was a little nick in the piston. Tried it again and used a c-clamp on the chain (no oil in tensior, motor out of the car) and it came to .060 thousands, which is pretty close. The intake and exhaust valves were both that close.
I don't understand that all cyclinders except #6 were completely fine. I am using manley springs with vt stage 2 blower cams.
Could a cam be off?
Would there be more clearance when oil is in the heads and tensioners?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
