Im in the final stages of an engine rebuild and after checking for ptv contact I have come to the conclusion that running 4 degrees of advance is out of the question without having my pistons machined. The clay was practically cut to within a whisker of the piston and this is with the block in factory form and. the heads are pretty much brand new. Im running a tfs stage 1 can so I am surprised at the lack of clearance.

That was with the head gasket installed and snugged down ? Could go with a thicker head gasket to get some more clearance. It would bring the compression point down some too.

What's the combo? What heads are you running? 1.6 rocker?

Yeah was with the hg snugged.
Im running 1.6 rollers. Dart heads.
Im just gonna run straight up for now.
I have heard the stage 1 cam already has 4*
of advance built in. My crank sprocket only has 3 different indexes so I can only go 4* either way.
