I was pulled over one time for doing 15mph over the speed limit. I asked the cop if he could make it 14 so my insurance wouldn't jump as high as it could.
He said if you were going 14 mph over the speed limit then he would have.
never try and talk your way out of it with the officer.
Always take it to court, most of the time they'll give you a reduced sentence and fine, usually 5 over and no points.
it's called revenue generation, the last couple tickets I got the officer specifically told me the ticket would be no points...they write it up under another code...they get the money, you get no points everybody's happy.
I'm not trying to make believers out of anyone. I've been pulled over before and given no mercy whatsoever. I have no proof since I wasn't given a ticket, but if I was gonna tell a story I'd make it better than that. All I know is that my speeding will be kept inside the track from now on.
I believe it, in my old 92 5.0 i got pulled over by a cop doing 139 mph. He was a Highway Patrol in a 5.0 notch. He told me he understood I was a stupid kid (16) but if I didnt slow it down I was gonna kill myself and someone else and let me go.
