Purely Speculation/Musing

Ouch...

Actually, I was thinking about an 03/04 GT. I dunno why I typed S197. I suxxorz at teh muti-task.

I'm really not very familiar with the setup of either of those cars or their engin mounting setups etc.

What made me think of it was that I was tooling around LRS' website and looked at the prices of their crate motors. The Coyote is cheaper than an 03/04 4V -and- it has an intake already.

Something else that came to mind is an 03 GT (great shape from what I could see) that I saw nearby that's sitting with a blown motor... cheap.

So anyhow...

Not looking for any depth of technical detail. Just wonderin'.

Prob require the same amount of work as a Fox. The SN95's chassis underpinnings are more similar to the Fox, so all the mods required to get one in a Fox would be about the same for the 94-04 cars.

If I recall correctly, the Coyote used the exact same bolt patterns as the earlier 4.6L mod motors. Ford wanted to save cost by using a lot of the same production line tooling. In fact, from a fundamental standpoint, the Coyote 5.0 is basically just a bored and stroked 4.6, since it shares the same bore spacing and deck height.

In other words, I believe it is (at least mostly) bolt-in. As far as wiring and computer stuff goes, you'll probably need one of FRPP's control packs, or a computer/harness from a donor car.
