Length is determined by measuring at least 2x using an adjustable pushrod and a pair of lifters made into solids.

I would use a new set of either hardened or chrome moly(my preference) as you are probably using guideplates and stock ones will get torn up by those. I had someone bring their car to my house to diagnose excess valve noise, he bought brand new stock length hardened rods and installed them without measuring, needless to say I now have a new set of stock length rods in my parts drawer as they were not even close on his non-stock motor. On the bright side his car sounds great now and actually runs better.
