Do 19 inch rims fit well on the 1999-2004 body style? Is there any reason not to go beyond 18 inches? Would there be any adverse issues if a 1.5 inch eibach drop was already installed? Just curious...I've seen some 19 inch deep dish cobra R style rims for sale and thought I would check before picking them up.

Thanks

Check the wheel wieght. a forged 19 will wieght less than the 18's most people run. your wheel diameter would be up about 1" with a 35 series tire. this is going to gear your car higher by 3-4%.

as long as you run 40 series or lower you will not rub.

I like a larger wheel if the wheel looks right. Many people on this board do not like anything but 17-18 ford wheels. might not be the best place for advice.

I mean if you have 18 inch bullits on this board every body gets ohh, ahh. where me they look like stock wheels. If you post in a aftermarket wheel on this board 50% if the people will hate in no matter what.

imo 19 are a little big for our body style, they are good on the 05.

however i say get what you like, this is comming from somone that went a little different then many other mustang owners.

big problem would be weight as already said, most 19 are pretty heavy. you can get a light weight wheel in those sizes, but you will pay for it.$$$$

17s are pretty much stock. Anything under that, like 16s or 15s (slicks) will yield you with more traction but worse handeling. Anything OVER 17s will yield better handleing but worse traction.

19" rims will also throw off your speedo, so you will need to get a tuner. Personally 17s are good, but 18s look the BEST on 99+ stangs. 19s and above are too much for my taste.

Also, with bigger wheels comes greater weight. "Roatation mass weight" (ie: heavy wheels) is the worst kind of weight you can have in the car. Heavy 19s may slow down your car a lot, you might even feel the car get slower. And vice-versa: going with light 15" wheels may speed your car up. Its because there is less diameter in which the tires have to cover to complete a rotation, and the raw weight of the wheels is an added stress.

Many people on this forum have 18s, 19s, even maybe 1 or 2 with some 20"s...so it can be done. But I just wanted to warn you about having bigger wheels. I wouldn't go any bigger thna 18s, personally.
