This is sort of an odd question but i wanted to see what you guys do more often. Say your at a track getting ready to launch; Do you:

A. Put it in first gear and push the clutch in and rev to say whatever rpm then launch

or

B. Rev it in neutral then put it in gear and let the clutch out at the same time?

So my actual question is...do you wait to put it in gear till the light goes green or do you leave it in gear, then begin prelaunching revs?

Or does it even matter?

i been do track and you do A, and you also gotta use a little e-brake cus the stang like to roll around a bit.... you would have a terrible r/t if you had to throw it in gear and let off the clutch after the light turned green

Option A....Clutch in, in first gear, revved to ~1500-2000 rpms. Then when I see the last yellow I dump the clutch and hammer the gas!

Option B, someone already said it, your reaction time would lick balls!Hell you wouldn't have a reaction time!

I'm new to sticks period but my last race before I started redoing my SVO, had better results with "A". I just got it reved enough to where I could feel the car trying to move and backed off just a micro hair. When the light turned green I couldn't believe my launch and the guy I was racing may have traded in his 5.0L or got some juice on it by now :nice: Now I haven't fully mastered the stick but I can't wait because they are way cooool

Thanks for the info guys but i must admit to something....this entire thread was a ruse. The only reason i posted it was so i could say this:

" But when i watched the fast and furious, they waited till the go to shift into gear"

Thats something i noticed the other day during the first one. I expected and i always have put it in gear ahead of time. But, during the 4 car race at the beginning of the movie, they clearly wait till its time to start moving before they get into gear. :D

I'm sure there is more then shifting gears that was screwy. I always wondered about the flames out the rear end of the car when they took off. I have a friend with that on his car and he was telling me how much fuel it took just to do that and I wonder if you could haul butt doing it exspecaily on boost/juice?
