...runner sizes that will work on my 408. (see what I did there? teehee)

Anyway, I found a good deal on some World Products Windsor Sr. Lite 200cc runner heads with 64cc chambers. Without worrying about the compression/size of the chamber, will these heads choke the engine down enough to where I will regret not going with an AFR 205 instead?

My goal is to be in the mid/low 11s in my notch. I wont see too much track time, mostly street, so I am not too worried about top end. Mostly looking for bottom end torque up through the mid range for a fun street car. My shortblock is done, so now its time to look for heads.

Thanks in advance,
Collin

Those heads will take you to your goal, I will say I would prefer the AFR205.

What intake are you running? Carb or EFI

Rick,

I am running an EFI setup, probably going to run a TFS type of intake. Haven't decided yet.

Unfortunately, the heads I was looking at sold pretty much immediately, and before I could figure out if I could use them or not. (wanted $850 shipped)

Probably just going to stick with the original AFR 205/TFS intake/custom cam setup. Might take a little longer to buy, but we all know that that combo is good for making power.

Would you agree?

If you're going with a TFS intake, why not TFS heads? You could do what I did, and go through Total Engine Airflow, they'll set it all up for you, and port match the intake to match the heads nicely.

Well normally, I do my engine work, but this time I let teh local machine shop take over the building of this engine. He had a bad experience with a Trick Flow head setup and wants to run AFRs on it instead.

The TFS R or box would be a good choice, along with a Super Victor Spyder.

I've been doing a lot of reading on the Windsor Sr. and W.S. Lite heads today. They seem to be decent heads, but turn into great heads once the bowls are worked around a little bit and some mild porting is done.

I read several claims of people that had them on 408s running well into the 10s.

I found another set that has been ported some for a good price it seems. The guy wants $875 for Windsor Sr. Lites with a port job. Says they have been washed/pressure checked/level checked and were good.

What do Yall think?

Where are you finding Windsor Sr heads for $850ish? Is it on line, a local dealer, or what? Id like to look into those heads myself.

Random classifieds. The pair I was looking at yesterday sold on Corral. The ones I am looking at now are on a different forum.

What do you know about these heads?

No worries man. From what I understand, the lites are aluminum versions of the Windsor Seniors. I may not be able to get them, so if you want, I'll PM you the link to the heads. I am having trouble getting in touch with the engine builder to see if the chambers are the right size since I am offshore.
