I was reading in a magizine that you have to have special headers
for gt40p heads to fit in a fox mustang. Reason asking is because i just bought a pair of the heads. I was going to put bbk equal lenght shorty headers and now im not sure if they will fit.
What you read is correct,....i made the same mistake. I had BBK's and the sparkplug would have went throught the number one tube on each side. I ended up buying stainless Ford Motorsports shorty headers on ebay for about $130. They fit great. MAC also makes a "P" specific header for about 200
My heads also didn't have the ports for the thermactor on them.Its the air pump system that pumps air into the exhaust ports to break the carbon monoxide into harmless carbon dioxide and water vapor which is better for the enviroment,... screw the enviroment,... i took mine off,... the pump and all the tubing. i bought a 77 inch belt(if you have a/c and power steering) because you will need a shorter belt when taking off the air pump
