Fox Question about how to use a thread repairer

Those two bolt holes go all the way through.
Your using too short of a bolt.
Those bolts don't need to be real tight, a little thread locker and a good snug unmph on the wrench should hold it, there is no real stress, just holds the bracket on.

Ok so that’s good to know I didn’t poke through anything. I must have just never taken off that plastic the powder coat guys put on that side and that’s what I punctured. I’ll try working the threads some more with the tap but it seems like no matter what I do the bolt always stops right about in the middle of going in. NoobZ your stud idea sounds like it would work well I’ll try that if anything.

Good news fellas. So it turns out there was still plastic from the powder coat people on that back side of the intake. Once I took that off and knew it was a through hole I was able to put the tap all the way through the hole. After that the bolt threaded in perfect and I was able to put everything back together. Thanks everyone and happy new year.

And another satisfied customer :nice:
Now what are you gonna do to it?
how bout some pics?
It’s pretty much done mechanics wise. Ive restored the engine, suspension, and had a shop change the leaking seals and replace the tranny. The car runs and drives like a dream.

Next up is the rust work. I’ve put a good amount of money in this car and want to get all of the rust sorted out before it gets worse. Only structural rust is in the drivers door jam, but it also has a rusted sunroof and some rust bubbles on the hatch windshield that will need to be fixed. I’ve got a guy by my house that does full hot rod restos and works with chassis’ all the time that I’m going to take it to soon.

Once that’s all done and I’m ready to spend the cash I’ll do the body work and paint job. But for now I could care less.

Here’s some pics I took today.

Fixed it for you... The windshield is in the front.....

Forgive me its a bad habit... I worked for an Auto Glass store for 6 years when I was young... People would call in to tell you what was broken and there were times I was not sure what they needed due to their descriptions....
Now you know.........
You'd be real confused across the big pond, windscreen, boot, mud guard, bonnet.

I’ve heard auto glass guys refer to the back glass as a rear windshield. I guess it’s a windshield if you’re driving in reverse lol

I had people call me on the phone wanting a quote for a WS for their vehicle.... After spending time with them giving them multiple quotes for clear, tinted, shaded pricing all of a sudden I would hear " back" windshield....... AND we started all over again..........
For Noobs.... It was 1974-1980 when I was doing Auto Glass......So you are close.....
