Ok so I found an excellent deal on some used PI cams online. They only include the cams though. They dont have the gear or sproket for the timing chain. Is this a big deal? Can I use my cam gears? By the way my car is a 96 and they will be going on NPI heads.

What do yall think?

as long as the cams have a threaded end, your fine but make sure they ARE Romeo PI cams and not Windsors wth the gears removed. if you can get stamping #'s off of them, I can de-code.
now if they are Romeos, as stated above you can re-use your gears, washers and spacers but you will need 2 new 10mm cam sprocket bolts, part # YF7Z-6279-AA and sell for @$3.00 each

Well I can't get the guy to answer my question. Should I just wait and get some other cams? What if they were windser cams would they still be usable? Also Randy If I was to get some parts from you how would I go about doing that?

Thanks, Clint

yes you can use Windsor PI cams on a Romeo head, no problem there.

now if you need to get ahold of me, hee is my # 410-655-2000 ext 5618

if you can wait for Romeo PI cams, then thats what I would do.

So to clarify, the Windsor has the press-on style cam gears where as the Romeo has the threaded or bolt-on style? I had purchased mine through a Ford dealer in 2002 (they are '02 cams) and they are the bolt-on style. Makes it easier to install, that's all. Most press-on type stil have the cam gears on them so if they don't, the press-on type would need the cam gears put on, which would be trouble in a home garage (at least mine).
