When I bought my car the wing wasn't on the car. A year later I'm thinking of putting it on. I have to get a new trunk lid, because it has the luggage rack on it right now. When I sat it on the trunk and positioned it the best I could the back corners of the mounting surface sticks out past the sides of the trunk lid. The mounting surface is flat, and looks good sitting on it, but I wasn't sure if maybe the seller gave me a wing for a different year. Should it stick out past the sides of the trunk lid? Sticks out about 1/4 inch on both sides. Anyone know if I was given the wrong wing? Thanks for any input.

once you remove the luggage rack it will fit where it is supposed to and it will not stick out past the lid. my friend had the same prob. we drilled out the rivets holding his rack on and the wing fit right over the 3rd light. without the rack in the way it fit the way it was supposed to and did not stick out.

Thanks for responses guy's. I'll get a new trunk lid without the luggage rack, and try the wing. I got to say, that with it just sitting on there it looks like it's going to hit the side of the car when i lower the trunk down. I've got to get a new trunk lid anyway for whatever wing i use, so i'm going to try the Saleen wing i have and see if i can get it to work. Do you guys know of any specific year that didn't use the luggage rack and the third brake light, because my wing has the third brake light in i, or do i just need to order a new one from Cervini? Thanks for the responses, anymore help would be great.

only verts have the rack and light. get a lid from a notch. You will have to drill new holes for your trunk hinges though. unless you pull the new lid off the car yourself though be careful. I was recently sold a "rackless" lid for my vert and when I stripped the paint it was a regular vert lid that had been drilled out and covered in bondo. With the cash I paid for it I was halfway to a new piece from cervini's. so watch out for scammers.

The Cervini's piece is fiberglass. If you want a steel one, check www.blueovalindustries.com

I may be wrong but I thought the Saleen wings with the 3rd brake light were for Gt/Lx hatchbacks.

Correct.

The convertible wing has a notch to sit up over the brake light mounted on the trunk lid.
