question about slicks

What do racers usually use to mark their slicks to determine if that rim is spinning inside the slick....paint....marker....?

just mark it with the samemarker you write your times on your car window with.

Nevermind...I painted a silver strip on them that lines up with the valve stem.

I use shoe polish, if I ever check them, and I never do!

I use shoe polish as well. Spun mine half way around the wheel first time out with drag radials.

I mark mine with dial-in (shoe polish) but I put weather-strip adhesive on the tire beads before mounting and so far no more slipping.
