Question about Stock system.

I have a couple questions regarding my sound system in my 2000 Stang.

It is not the mach system, so I wanted to get that out of the way. I was wondering if the original systems amplifers were underpowered, because i am having bass drop off without full power and my music is sound like crap.

Is there a way to replace the stock amps?

the reason the bass drops off is because there is a auto loudness built into the stock head unit. I would just replace the headunit and use a good 4 ch. amp

I had a heater core leak behind the stereo. The radio turns on and looks like it's working but no sound. Is there an amplifier behind the head unit that may have burned out?
