Alright, i know the Cobra ECU is calibrated for a 19#MAF and 24# injectors.

Im running a 80mm PRO-M calibrated for 42# injectors and 42# injectors. Im having an odd hesitation problem with the car. It seems like the engine is loading up on fuel or something.

Just wondering if the cobra ecu i have is causing me problems? I have an appt to get the car tuned next friday, but i would like to have any issues worked out now.. What you guys think?

Thanks guys.

A cobra computer will put in less fuel because it thinks the injectors are larger. I think you need a meter calibrated for 19/24's your injector size. For 42's, that would be 33.25 lb. Good luck finding that off of the shelf. I think you should call up ProM and see if they will make a custom calibrated MAF for you, or else, get one of their MAF calibrators. Their computerized model looks pretty good and I think it's on sale for about $200.

You're going to have it tuned and chipped, right? Then it does not matter what MAF or EEC you use, so long as you know the MAF's calibration curve (Pro-M should have provided a calibration sheet). If you're not going with a chip, you'd just need a MAF "calibrated" for 42# injectors on a Cobra. But you wouldn't do that with a turbo, would ya?!!

hey I have a 94 cobra with a single turbo kit on it and I also have 42lb injectors and as long as the maf is calibrated for the injectors the ecu doesn't care. i am running the stock ecu for your info

I think it must be something to do with the turbo. Why don't you send the PTK kit over to me and I'll set it up on my car and diagnose it with the R/T feedback from my TwEECer...

hey, similar question. i picked up an MAF calibrated for a cobra also and i know that you can send them back in te get recalibrated but, what if it was also calibrated for 99 cobra. can they change the year on that too or is that even relevent? the plug is the same. none of that changed, its just the calibration.

i didnt know what it was until i got it.

It's not the computer. WEll, it is, but not what you think. The tune will straighten it out. Just be patient young Skywalker. You will be very surprised on the ride home next friday.

Lol charilie..

Well i have good news. I poped the VC's off tonite, found some real loose rockers, re did them all, set the timing to 8 degrees, and took it for a ride.. Its running like a BEAST. This is what im talking about!! Its spinning the tires in 3rd and 4th, its completely insane - you gotta remember im going from my old ~280 rwhp combo to this! I gotta learn how to control the car again, its like a whole new animal.

My only problem left is my stupid boost gauge, There must be a kink in the plastic line somewhere in the dash or somehting.. Just gotta find the damn spot.
