question about thumper heads, wrong info maybe

absolutely - anybody can credit card a 11-12 second car.

Absolutely. And it would be pretty boring if we all went fast the exact same way. I have huge respect for a guy that can go damn near as fast with half the parts. I am putting together one of the cookie cutter aluminum combos with used parts. Partially because I don't think I have the experience to do it the challenging way yet. I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with a mostly Ford setup that performs. I'll never get it.

if you find a set of new aluminum heads that flow better than these heads for 600-700 dollars then let me know; because for 700 i am going to have a rebuilt head that has been magnufluxxed, shaved if needed,5 angle valve job for performance, fully ported and polished as well as have .600 lift springs and flow tested.then they are painted nicely and you can use the stock pushrods and other components. i didn't mention free shipping either.i also forgot to mention that the exhaust bumps are ground down flat.

do yall think it would be better to have a set of 351w heads ported by thumper or just go with e7's.

I was talking about buying USED aluminum heads and in Canadian dollars vs spending big bucks porting E7`s at a shop here in Canada,(Toronto).

As for flow #`s,I have yet to see an independant flow test of Thumper E7`s done to verify the advertised flow figures. It takes a lot of work to get the numbers advertised on his site. Some independant confirmation would be nice.
If your going to buy the E7`s,take them to a flow bench just for the hell of it and find out.

I guess I dont get it because all I care about is absolute power, not "novelty" if it can be called that. Must be since I'm more into the street scene... where factory heads, intake, headers, etc. = slow. Except if you gotta 4.6 Cobra of course.

That's because you buy your power.........You can't make stock parts make 300HP...........

All out power to me means nothing, its about how impressive the car is. I could have a mid 12 second HCI car right now which you would probably call fast, but I had a LOT more fun doing it this way, did it cheaper, and get a lot more respect for it. Again without walking in my shoes, you wont ever know why I did it!

My friend had a stock motored car running high 12s, and he got tons of respect, and dropped jaws everywhere he went. That to me is worth more than going a few tenths faster with HCI!

I have fun with my E7 car on the street and the track!

I think I could figure out how to make 300 with the E7's... oh, wait, I already did that... then I bought a set of good heads and ported them myself... and what exactly does "you buy your power" mean? Like you didnt pay one red cent for your heads, or anything else on your car, or your car itself? Your logic is impressive.

I think hes saying more along the lines of buyin and bolting on a set of aluminum heads, instead of doing the work to E7s to go fast. I dont think he meant it in a mean way, just the way he worded it...

I personally wouldnt mind a good set of heads, but would be disappointed to run anything slower than 12.0 with them as I have been deep 12s with the E7s! Power numbers dont mean much, its the real world feel, and numbers that like, and the E7s have provided that. 107-108 mph in street trim (actually on 17s which I dont have anymore) and it runs and acts like a stocker is extremely nice and holds itself on the street well! With aftermarket heads, I would be disappointed at anything under 112 mph, but then again Im a hard guy to please! :D

I agree. One thing I love about ole' 5.0's is that there are so many different ways to make power. When you line up next to a 5.0 Foxbody, you never know what the outcome might be. While with a Lightning, Cobra, LS1 (most) 4.6L mustang, ect, they usually have about the same mods, and are very typical.

Just thought of something.

Why are Thumper E7's and 5.0's are a perfect match:

However recently, foxbodies are getting more respect, but for the longest time, they have been HATED on by everyone. Weather your on a F-body board, Supra board, even Civic board, everyone raggs on our foxbodies and always talking about killing our "five-slows" even if it really didn't happen. Why is this? It's because of this very factor, you go to a dealer, and buy this expensive sports car that is supposed to be so supirior to a Mustang, then you pull next to one at the light and it bust your ass, and it cost a 1/4 what yours did, yeah your going to be pissed and try to point out every thing you can to put it down. Kind of like small man syndrome. Thumper heads, similar situation. You pay all togeather twice for your aftermarket alumimums and either can't outrun it, or the difference isn't that great.

Why I did Thumper heads: Well, I was limited on funds, and didn't see the point of putting nice heads like that on a 120K stock bottom end. I saved money on heads and bought other things. I gaurantee this, take the money you save by buying the thumper's, and put it towards other parts, the car will be faster.

Maby next season the alumimums will be better, but what about this season?
If you want to wait, why waste your time on a puny 302, why not a fully bult 427W?

What puzzles me is why did Ford wait until the 93-95`Cobra`s to install the better factory heads and intake manifolds?

And while I`m on this subject...why did they put the good factory heads and intake on the damn 5.0L Explorers:shrug:.

87 and up 5.0L Mustangs should have come with GT40 heads and intake manifolds from the factory instead of the crappy flowing stock E7`s and even crappier flowing lower intake manifold imo.

Ford really makes no sense at times:notnice:.

OOPS... sorry I missed this.. Here are a few trashy guys running trashy heads in trashy 5.0's!! LOL BUT, when your the guy in front for half the money as the one in the back.. God does it feel good!! IMO!! LOL

Mike, Just a note to let you know what we did at the track today! The place was crowded bad as it was the first day of the season. The first pass of the day was a 12.58 @ 108 mph, the car seemed to boog a little out of the hole. The second and last pass was a 12.45 @ 108.4 on a 1.73 60 ft!! the heads and cam were unreal!! I droped almost a full second from before with the head change!! We are going out tonite and see what we can scare up.... see ya at Hooters around 1030. Thanks again for the help and word on the cam advance.
