Okay I have been tossing the idea around in my head to try something fun. I was planning on dumping my Cobra intake for a ported stocker, and taking my current heads and having them ported as well. My question mainly concerns money. I was told that a good set of ported heads will run $800+ and a good ported stock intake $400+. I have never looked into any of this as class rules never allowed it, but now that I want to run Real Street, Im allowed ported stock heads, and well, the intake is stock who is going to care if its ported, lol! What do you guys charge for this, and how far do you take it. When I get my heads back is there more porting that can be done or are they pretty much cut up as much as possible. Same with the intake, do you take them to the limit, or leave material in there for future work? These are probably dumb questions, but before changing my combo a bit, Id like as much info as possible.
My ultimate goal is to go 11s on the motor (after suspension, some more weight off it, new clutch, etc...) with these heads and intake, and then hit it with a decent shot of nitrous to fit Real street rules. Id like to see mid 10s out of the car on the bottle, and really open some eyes with the hood open!
