question on nitto drags, and 3.73

at the track, put the radials at around 14-16psi. i think you'll run a 13.7 - 13.9 @ 99-100mph with a 2.0 short time.

The underdrive pullies will help a little. What gears did you have before the 3.73s?

I let a buddy of mine borrow my Nitto Drag radials which were 275/50/15s on a 15x8 weld wheel out back. He had a fairly stock 85 GT with just a catback and the Nittos dropped his ET 3/10s of a second - just with the tires.
At the time my 1985 Coupe was making about 270 hp to the wheels, had a stock suspension, tremek TKO, and a recently freshened up 8.8 with 3.73 gears. I was managing a 12.92@105 mph and a 1.85 60ft. time with the above said Nitto drag radials. My carburetor was pretty much bolted on right out of the box and still needed more tuning. My car shoulda been good for 12.5s all day with an ET street and tuning. I would put my tire pressure around 16 lbs. for the strip. Read the sidewall specifications for operating tire pressure for the street. I think it was about 34 lbs. You could expect to drop about 4-5 tenths of a second off. You can't just dump the drag radial (even though your friends will tell you too like mine...) it won't work that way. Also, long smokey burnouts will actually hinder traction somewhat - heat 'em up just enough to get a nice haze off 'em and then let up and pull forward. Usually I'm modulating the pedal off the line and second would spin a little and grab. 3rd would be a pretty violent chirp for me but would grab hard. I've tried and tested different techiniques with launching and tire pressures so get to the track before it crowds up and make a few passes trying a few different things.

If you drop 3 tenths in the first 60' that 6 tenths on the big end. I vote 13.60@101 if you can drive.

since we are on teh tire topic... what is the biggest tire ( slicks) you can fit on a fox with no quad shocks

We run a 27x10.5 on a 15x8 draglite on the blower car. With drag radials I always try to use smaller burnouts (as JohnnyG said) as far as the air pressure I will run a pass at 30 psi and work down in 5 psi increments till I get a dead hook or bog then up it till i get a slight spin out of the hole. (but thats just how i roll)
