Greetings guys!

I have a question regarding an 1/2 intake spacer FMS-M9486A52. I have a cobra intake, i was wondering are the bolts the same for the GT-40????
Becuase in the summit catalog, the part numbers state GT-40 and on 5.O resto-it states Cobra.GT-40, whats the deal? They both utilize the same FMS part #.
I always thought they were different.....

Many thanks-Anthony

The GT40, Cobra and Explorer intakes all share the same lower intake manifold - with some minor differences for things like egr cooling return ports, and ACT sensor location. The thing to know is how many long bolts vs. short bolts. My Explorer has 2 short bolts (each end - passenger side), and 4 long bolts. I believe the Cobra is the same. Not sure about the GT40 upper since it has a tubular steel construction instead of cast aluminum.

Cobra uppers use 4 long bolts and 2 short ones.

The GT-40 uppers use 4 short bolts and 2 long ones.

Now hurry up and get that spacer off and give it to me - I've got a set freshly painted "Ford blue" valve covers waiting to go on now. lol

"Cobra uppers use 4 long bolts and 2 short ones.

The GT-40 uppers use 4 short bolts and 2 long ones."

Thanks for your help-guys!

Thing is-

Summit racing and 5.0 resto both share the same part# M9486A52, But only 5.0 resto states its for a cobra as well. And being on the phone for about an hour and getting no-here-It seems they both have the same bolts (GT40),-which is for not for the cobra! But they list GT40/cobra-I believe that is a misrepresentation. WTF!!!!!!!!!!! i even called FMS and they dont have the bolts!! What a joke.
It seems the cobra intake gets no respect, but the GT40 has the bolts and all. What is it with 3/8 only and 1 inch-But no 1/2 from BBK & trickflow....

I am using a GT-40 intake on my car with a 1" spacer, and I have two long bolts in the middle, and 4 short bolts front and back. Just buy the spacer, and if it has the wrong bolts, just run down to the local hardware store.

Hey Jackal.........

Hey-Jackal,

Thanks for reponding to my spacer post.

Did you buy the 1/2 cobra spacer from 5.0 resto, for a cobra intake??? Did you specify-COBRA and not GT40...
Were the bolts complete?

Cobra 4 long, 2 short....
GT40 2 long, 4 short....

Thanks-Anthony
