question?

My stang is 5-speed. When I'm in 2nd gear and just hit the gas really fast, jerking the car forward I hear this noise below my feet. It sounds like something is loose. It kinda sounds like metal hitting something right by the clutch and gas petal..any suggestions what this could be? Thanks!

What condition are your engine mounts in? Might be the H pipe contacting the body. Could be anything. Can you be more specific?
It's in the interior of the car....When I have the car in 1st or 2nd gear and hit the gas really quick, you hear this thump(like metal on metal or something swinging) right underneath your feet. It's right by the gas pedal or the clutch. At first I thought it was the metal hitting something on one of the pedals. I can't figure it out though. Thought I would ask the professionals on here. Thanks for your help. LM

there is nothing inside the car to do that, that i can think of. i like Duece's idea. common problem and there is only thin metal on the floor. hard to tell if it is inside or outside the car. there is a lot of turmoil when you drop the hammer.
good luck.
