questions about a9l conversion, map sensor

So what I understand about this swap is I need to come up with a MAP/BAP sensor and somehow incorporate it into the harness and plug into an A9L processor. Is this it? Can this be done without the sensor? Has anyone done this themselves?

Yeah sure I did it on my 94. Its not too bad actually, the kit came with the bap sensor instructions and everything else I needed to do the conversion. There are actually several kits, some with harness some without. I didn't get the harness so once I pulled the computer the instuctions walk you through changing some of the pins around in the origional harness, some pins are removed all together, others are spliced to the bap sensor that came with my kit. After that you plug the repinned harness into an A9L computer (was supplied by my kit) and thats it. Now some kits come with bap sensors and A9L computers and some don't so make sure you order the right kit.

Now there is a harness that you can buy now that eliminates all the pin moving I found it right after I completed my install, go figure.

Where would I find these kits? I found a couple wire diagrams that show it in simple terms. It appears as if I could just swap out some wires and relocate them to different areas of the harness plug. There are only 1/2 a dozon. There are mainly the injectors being relocated and a wire for LH HEGO. Of course there is also the addition of BP sensor.

PIH was a kit, but I dont know if it is around anymore (it was distributed by a now defunct company, IIRC). Not sure if the new guys have such a kit.

Nope foxes did not have a provision for an electric fan. The harness connectors are different for the two cars (different 'family').

Good luck.
