Hello I am planning on puting nitrous in the stang in the next 6 months. I need all kinds of advice. Which are the best brands for mustangs? Also which would be better, a dry or a wet system? You can see what i have right now in the sig and soon i am doing a head, intake, and TB swap. I would like at least a 100 shot of nitrous as long as the stock short block can handle it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I run a Zex dry kit on a stock block. I have had no probs at all. Zex kit is easy to install and it works by tapping into WOT from TPS. Just make sure of the following:

1) Run plugs at 1 or two steps colder (i use Autolite 23's)
2) Gap at .035
3) Timing is important: Make sure you follow their guidelines (at first at least). The Zex kit says - for 75hp run stock timing 10* - for 100hp retard 2* (8*) - for 125hp retard 4* (6*). After testing with the stock timing I played around with race gas, fuel pressure etc. and I was able to run higher than stock.
4) Listen carefully when you hit the bottle for the first time, at the first sign of knock, let off the gas and retune.

Have fun and be smart about it.

would look for used blower before i put that in the car...i mean it depends what you like...you can only have fun when u push the button, with a blower whenever u feel the need to go from where u are at to nutty speeds just tap the throttle.

used nitrous system is way cheaper thou if your on a budget... i was thinking of doing the same... hoping to run about 280rwhp with h/c/i plus 75-100 shot just worried about stock block handling it...

yeh im thinking budget wize right now and iv have been told by many people that if you get nitrous done right then it is safe for the engine. I am puting a BBK 70mm TB, Trick Flow Street Heat Intake and either AFR 165 or Edelbrock Performer Heads. I want to couple that with a good nitrous kit because i wont use it often and it is so much cheaper. I just want to make sure i get a good one and get it tuned right. I would like a kill switch either under the dash or the seat and an actuator switch located in a more handy place. Do any of these kits have that set up? Or can they be made to have that? Thanks for all of the help.

If your engine is in good shape it should take that 75 shot like nothin. Hell there was someone here that ran a 300 shot on a stock block. Ran mid 10's on sticky tires. Made 3 passes before it blew tho :rlaugh: . Also a wet kit is JUST AS DANGEROUS as a dry kit. If you don't have your engine tuned properly either one can destroy engines fast.
