Before the summer time i would really like to lower my stang and change the shocks and struts. Does anyone have any experience with the MRT street spring/strut/shock kit cause it seems like a good price. Also they have the whole Bullitt suspension kit for only $396 on the website, does anyone know if thats a good kit. I take my car to the track alot so is there anything else i can get to help on launches and traction other then drag radials. Thanks

I just found a really good website for oem mustang suspension,http://www.fordpartsnetwork.com/ would it be better to get the mach 1 shocks/struts/shocks, how much wud it lower the car and is it a better package then the mrt one. I know that it wud be much cheaper to get it from the website.

I bought my springs from MRT and I bought the Mach1 shocks/struts from fordpartsnetwork. It was a little cheaper than the kit from MRT. I'm not sure what the deal is with the Mach1 shocks/struts. They're a ford part, but made by Tokico. Apparently they're not the same thing as the Tokico shocks/struts, but no one seems to know how they differ from each other (I spoke with someone from MRT and Tokico).

Anyway, I am very happy with the results that I got. The springs lowered my car 1.5 inches. I can't say that my launches improved any because I was still trying to get everything down, but my car handles alot better than before.

Yes, MRT makes good quality products. I personally have Eibach Pro-Kit and Strange Engineering adjustable shocks and struts. These things are fully adjustabel and under 100 bucks a piece and are awsome quality.

I put the MRT kit on my car and absolutely love it. I got an honest 1.5" drop in all 4 corners and the car now sticks to the road like glue! No roll whatsoever. I don't know about the mach 1 set-up but The Tokico shocks/struts with the MRT kit are outstanding.

Those of you with the MRT Kit's, are you talking about the Street Performance kit or the Race kit with adjustable strut/shocks to get a 1.5" drop on all corners?

Shocks will not change your ride height. I do not know if the springs are different though.

I agree, however the drop for each kit on the web site is different.

I read a mag article (forget which mag) not long ago where they compared an '03 Cobra, an "03 Mach I and a Bullitt. The Bullitt was the best handling of the three. The Mach I was the worst of the three (in handling).

I'm thinking of the Bullitt setup myself because you don't have to replace the CC plates, the only problem is that the Bullitt setup only lowers you car about 3/4" all the way around and I'm afraid that won't be enough.

I wonder what the difference is between the Mach 1 shocks/struts and the Bullit shocks/struts? At stangstore.com the description of the two are exactly the same but the price is different.

Thanks for all the input, now time for some pics of all ur stangs with the springs/shocks/struts. Im gonna go to downs ford on the weekend or sometime and try to test drive one of there mach 1's. But im still not sure wut to do, i can get the MRT street kit for about $590 or the bullitt suspension kit which comes with more stuff for about $390 from mustangracing.com or i can get the mach 1 shocks and struts for $190 and then buy FRPP "C" springs for around $180. Decisions, decisions o well thats the fun of it.

You won't need c/c plates with the MRT kit either.
As for what's different about the HP Tokico's, the Bullitt's and the Mach 1's, i'm not sure, but they are all Tokico's.
Maybe they are valved differently since each car has different springs and spring rates.

It's EXTREMELY helpfull and, IMO, should be a feature on every late model Mustang website.

PS: when you're looking at all the pictures, remember, some of those wheels are 18". If you're looking at the wheel well gap, this will take away 1/2",
If you're looking at ground clearance, it adds 1/2".

Agreed! Chad is the man! He helped me install the shocks/struts on my car and fixed a mistake I made installing my springs. He really knows what he's talking about.
