GOOD NEWS: I spent last night cleaning the interior and I installed those new map pockets I bought in May.

BAD NEWS: I messed with the exhaust last night to get the H-pipe to fit tigheter against the body. I succeded, however on the way out to Woodward the right side donut gasket blew out!!!! POP POP POP POP POP!!!!:mad: Tweaking the H-pipe at the mufflers, tweaked it at the right manifold too. Luckly I ordered a new gasket last night anyways. I just had a feeling. Good thing it happened last night, because I wasn't planning on taking the car out at all today, so it would have happened at Woodward!!!

So tonight....new donut gasket, and a thourough detail job of the paint.

PICS:

Before and after. Too many "orbes" in the shop when I snap pics..sorry. Better pics tomorrow at the cruise. I will get all interior shots at teh cruise in tehs sunlight.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I have two interior peices I need to modify and add tonight...before the big day tomorrow! I waited all summer, I'm such a procrastinator. Oh, my gasket came in too, so I need to do that tonight to...damnit. I gotta buy food for tomorrows cruise afterparty at my house....busy Friday night!!!!!

how does the sn dash not interfere with the stock door handles on the fox door panels? most of the sn dash swaps I see have custom panels made that will re-locate the handles.

Awesome :nice:

Hack Job is just a beautiful car :hail2:

Thank you.

I cut it a little farther than most. It fits tight against the windshield and I can still use the defrost too. I did trim about 1/4" off of each door handle to clear the dashboard. You can get two fingers in their to open the door just like a stock fox handle.

What donut gasket are you talking about?

4.6L's have a donut gasket in between the RH manifold and the H-pipe.

I was lucky and mine don't sag too bad but they're nowhere near as clean as those. Were they brand new or used?

Hackjob just makes me want to take apart my notch and go 4.6L let alone the interior.

Thanks guys. I PROMISE interior shots tomorrow!!! For sure! The 4.6L swap is fun to have, and really attracts attention.

On the socket flanges...mine were leaking there two. The holder that slides up and down on the H-pipe is too large on some pipes. I had to cut V's in mine to make them seal against the other end. I had leaks all over, but now they are fine.

Thats a great idea! I should put some small Vs in mine. That will make the pipes crimp a little, right?

Care to give me a little bit of details, mine leaks like a mofo. It just looks like the ball on the H is just too big.

I know what ball you are talking about. My MAC catback flow tubes to the BBK Hpipe looked the same way. The rings that slide on both pipes, then bolt together, were touching. I had to grind a little metal out of them here and there to get them to slide further over the ball, to get a perfect seal. I also had to cut V's in the rings that slide and bolt up to the left header too....(it would be both headers on a 5.0L.) I had to cut V's in them because they were hitting the studs coming out of the manifold, creating a massive leak due to the large gap.

I hope this helps. It would be way easier to explain if I was next to you, under the car...haha. I hope this helps you. I hate exhaust because of this reason.

Hrm. The rings that slide up dont seem to be an issue with my setup, but I might just have not noticed it, next time I take the pipe off Ill have to check. The rings are a pretty good distance apart.

I'm really surprised you didnt go with a 32v from a markVIII when you built this car.

I have a few of those motors, but I don't know if all the wiring from the 2001 GT car I had would hook up and make all that stuff on a DOHC engine work. I just wanted to keep it simple and use everything from the 2001 GT I bought.

I am keeping my eyes open for a 4V car though. 96-98 Cobra, Mach 1, Termi etc. I eventually will put a 4V in the car, unless I sell it first. :hide:

A guy yesterday wanted Hack Job, til he found out it had a 4.6L in it, so I turned him onto my black notch, and he took my number and said it's exactly what he is looking for, so we will see. I'll give it a little while and try Ebay.

i find it funny how certain ppl shy away from any 4.6 cars thinkin that they are nothing compared to a 5.0.thats how you can pick out someone that knows NOTHING about the 4.6.once you know about it,its not a bad motor at all,non pi ones, well thats a diff story.

Good point. I remember I was flamed to high heaven when I started talking about this swap. Those members are no longer around, and the supporters are. 4.6L 2V's can make disgusting power! They sound so siick at the track too! I saw a guy rip off a sub 9 second run on a 2V!!!!! :jaw:
