Quick PTV ?

So I've been chasing down a coolant leak and found the lower intake the culprit. Since I've already got intake off and engine drained, I figured it won't be much more to tear rest of it down and install a new cam. It already has GT40-X305 heads and SVO intake and cam is all that's missing.

My question is, will a Comp Cam XE270hr (114 LSA) with .512 lift cause PTV issues?

The Comp Cam tech said he's seen some peeps have issues and some not. Not a real clear answer. Heads are the 58cc version, so I'm thinking it'll be close. I know I will have to measure, but before I go this route does anyone have experience or thoughts on this?

Thanks for any help,
Jay

Yeah I did a bit of research and everyone seemed ok with it, but every combo is different and I never did find anyone running the X305 heads with it. I was actually kinda surprised when I talked to the tech at Comp. First thing he said was that he had nothing that would work. Thanks for the reassurance, I could use all I can get.

Best method is to check, as you are aware, but you should not have any issues.

Piston to valve clearance is not determined by peak lift. :)

When the valve lift hits .512", the piston is 2.168" down the hole.

Cool, thanks 5spdGt. You know, peak lift is all the cam tech talked about. Never overlap or even duration, which is why I had to question and ask for help.

By the way, the H/C/I write up in your sig was a big help as I was planning this project and I still refer to it often. Thanks for that,

Your very welcome. Good Luck with it all!
