just outa curiosity, whats the right way when you are changing lifters to setup your rockers? Right now I have a collapsed lifter, and wanna install new ones I ahve stud mount rockers and I wanna make sure I do it right so any advice would be great thanks in advance!
Zero lash is a phrase used to describe the point when all slack is gone from moving the pr up & down.
When you go beyond that point you are depressing the lifter cup down into the lifter and entering what most peeps call the pre load range or pre loading the lifter, if you will.
Everybody has their own way to adjust lifters that they feel comfortable with.
I've never soaked or primed or pumped or anything like that.
I just make sure the lifter has been allowed to set undisturbed for a while before adjusting.
It takes a very focused attention span and a delicate feel to determine zero lash and IMHO, that is the most difficult part to grasp if you have never done it.
If you had someone who had done it and could show you..............
It would make the job much more easy or relatable.
