Quick question about the ticking noise..

I saw a post a few days ago about a ticking noise coming from the engine on '03 Cobras. I also saw in the thread about someone saying that all '03 Cobras built before a certain date will have this problem.

For some freakin' reason i can only view the threads in the last 24 hours and it won't let me change it or view past it. Can someone help me out by either telling me that date, wat the problem is or just give me the link to that thread

One last quick question (or maybe two)...I'm shooting to buy a '03 that was produced in April 2003 which was a special order. It has 4000 miles on it with the warranty running out April 2006. Should i be concerned about this ticking problem on this car? By which mileage does this ticking noise usually occur?

I know I'm probably beating the issue to death but I'm just looking for that Warm and Fuzzy fealing of reinsurance.

No such thing as a special order Cobra. They only had two options from the factory, "Spoiler Delete" or "Chrome Wheels". Not sure what you meant by that statement.

You should be a little concerned about any '03 Cobra that was produced before November 1st 2002. If it doesn't have the tick at 4K though, then you should be relatively safe. Some '03 owners have gone tickless for 10K or more before it showed up, but those are the minority. Mine started ticking at about 1500 miles the first time, and again less than 1000 miles after my orginal head was replaced.
