This is regarding the prothane upper strut bushings I ordered for my 96. Bushings are all the same for most years so I figured I'd ask here.

I'm in the middle of replacing my struts. I just got my Prothane upper strut bushings and I cannot figure out for the life of me where the heck that hockey puck looking bushing goes on the strut. I know the other one goes in the upper clamshell mount, but where does that big wide puck bushing go? It's much wider than the factory bumpstop and dont even look like a bumpstop. It also doesnt fit inside the lower metal shell like the bumpstop does. Where does this thing go.. so I can finish my job?? Im stumped.

Never mind. I decided I'm not going to try using that bushing. I have NO IDEA where it goes. I'm thinking it may be for caster/camber plates. I don't have those (stock). It wont fit anywhere except on the lower part of the strut rod, but then it doesn't fit into the lower metal shell and prevents the dust boot from going on. So im at a loss. I'll screw with it some other day. I gotta get this finished tonight.

here is a pic of the bushing in the meantime. Maybe this"ll help. It's the two round ones in the middle..
