quick questions about LCAs before i buy them.
The rear of my 00 doesnt sit as low as I want it. I've got sportlines but want it lower since IMO nothing gets new edges low enough in the rear. I want a bout 2.5 fingers worth of gap back there.

1) Is the stang suspension unit a good piece?
2) Do I have to take the springs out every time i adjust the height?
3) will it really help my 60 ft? ever since i installed the sportlines, all i get is wheel spin and no weight transfer.

Thanks

I assume that you're talking about adjustable lower control arms, both Maximum Motorsports and Granatelli make them ,among others. Basically you have a large allen head bolt under the spring cup so that you can raise or lower the back of the car. You do not need to remove the spring each time you adjust the allen bolt. I'm an auto-x guy, so I'm not sure that I'll be able to help you with the drag thing, but there are some common sense approches. If you run a lighter (less stiff) rear spring in th erear, it will allow the car to "squat" and transfer weight to the rear of the car improving traction. You can also do some rearranging of the control arm attachment points to help with this as well. By the same token, lose the front sway bar, and run some competition shocks there to let the nose come up. One thing that you have to recognize, the car will either handle well in the corners, or transfer well at the drags, or do fair at each, the suspension technology is mutually exclusive of being able to do both very well.

1 more question.
Looking at a picture of the LCAs, how can i adjust them with the allen on the bottom?
I mean, it's got a loaded spring sitting on top of it, how will it defeat all that force?

Word of caution, if the sway bar mounts are located as low on those arms as they are on mine...

You will only have about 1 1/2" of ground clearance on the low parts of the sway bar. AKA, potholes will cause you to drag the rear sway bar! Also, some automatic car washes have the guides that line your car up straight and my sway bar drags on them also. Other than that, I love mine!

Don't lower the rear of your mustang that low you will
regret it.Low inclines, pot holes, etc. you will be scraping the
bottom of your mustang.Your mid pipe and your rear sway
bar will take alot of the abuse.

Its actually not an allen head, its a half inch drive (you can use a half inch socket wrench drive).

The spring perch itself rotates, and the spring perch is greased, so it does allow you to raise/lower the perch pretty easily... but you really have to jack up the rear end to make it easy. Its not good to put stress on the adjusting perch, threads, etc.

ALSO, click the second thumbnail on your link, then hover your mouse over the picture, you'll see a nice blown up version of the threads and perch, etc.

You can buy these at 50resto. Much cheaper. A customer had them on his Camaro and they work great. They don't work with 94+ sway bars, but as said above his sway bar is a hair off the ground anyways. I don't have a swat bar on my 91 notch and I don't even miss it.

well when i get them i'm not going to lower the rear that much. maybe just 2/10 or so. I just want maybe 1 finger gap at the most in the rear. I want this mainly for the looks, but if it'll help me in the 60' then thats an added plus since my sportlines are crap for launching.
